Susan Boyle plans to star in a musical about her life.
The Scottish singing sensation - who shot to worldwide fame after appearing on UK TV talent show 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 - is in talks to have her meteoric rise to fame chronicled in a new stage production and even hopes to take the lead role in the show.
She said: "I'm definitely going to be on stage. I'd rather that than having to sit watching people up there looking like me.
"I want to be doing the music parts, so I'll be coming in and out of the show. I'm looking forward to doing some live work. It'll be really nice to see so many of the people who have supported me in person."
Producers are reportedly planning to take the show - which will chronicle the 49-year-old star's modest upbringing in Blackburn, West Lothian, her period living alone with her cat and her rise to stardom - on a huge UK tour late next year as they believe it will be extremely popular.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Susan has incredibly loyal fans. People will be travelling from all over the world to see her perform in her own musical.
"I wouldn't be surprised if some of them book tickets to watch it five nights in a row."

Colin Firth "relished making a fool" out of himself when filming 'Mamma Mia'.
The British actor appeared alongside other A-list stars including Pierce Brosnan and Meryl Streep in the romantic musical film - based on the songs of Swedish pop group ABBA - and said he enjoyed making it because none of them ever took it too seriously.
He told website nj.com: "I think dignity can be a little overrated. I just relished making a fool of myself, really, along with all these rather serious actors.
"There was a fantastic kind of recklessness to it; every time we finished a take, we would look at each other and blanch. What on earth were we doing? Committing career suicide? That audiences liked it was very gratifying. Really, it's one of the experiences I regret least in my life."
Colin - who has starred in blockbusters including 'Bridget Jones's Diary', 'Love Actually' and 'The English Patient' - added, however, that in other projects, if the chemistry isn't there between the stars, they can become a "misery" to make.
He added: "It can be utter misery. Because you are trying to manufacture something that's supposed to be happening naturally.
And I think everyone knows what that's like, in some area of life. You can't make things like that happen. And I'll tell you, if the other people involved in the project are not that good, it doesn't make you look any better. It's quite the reverse, actually. You look your best when you're working with someone better than you."
Colin stars in 'The King's Speech' which is released from December worldwide.

Nadine Coyle believes the Girls Aloud hair budget could "feed a small country".
The 'Insatiable' hitmaker believes there would need to be a large amount of money for the group, consisting of herself, Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts and Sarah Harding, to get back together.
She said: "It would depend on everybody's feeling. The money that would need to be invested in it is another factor.
"Between the five of us the hair budget alone was enough to feed a small country. It was through the roof! I think we bought our hairdresser an entire extension on the back of her house on one album campaign. If she wasn't driving a Bentley then she should have been."
The 25-year-old singer also believes Cheryl's solo success and appearance on UK TV talent show 'The X Factor' will dictate when the band will get back together.
She added to i-D magazine: "Cheryl's success is a point for all the rest of us to consider from our own points of view.
"We've got to be realistic about what has happened to Cheryl over the last couple of years."

Lily Allen is reportedly planning to marry in 2011.
The star suffered the tragic loss of her baby six months into her pregnancy at the beginning of this month, but the devastating ordeal has only strengthened her relationship with builder Sam Cooper.
A source told the Mail On Sunday newspaper: "Lily and Sam had loose plans to marry after the baby was born but nothing concrete was in motion.
"Now they have decided they want to be man and wife as soon as possible. They realised through their grief that they absolutely adore one another and cannot live without each other."
25-year-old pop singer Lily has previously described Sam, 32, as the "love of my life" and the couple - who have been dating since summer last year - are said to be looking at a wedding in the county of Gloucestershire in England.
They are thought to be considering tying the knot at either Lily's father, Keith's home, or in the town of Minchinhampton.
The source added: "Lily is very close to her dad and she took him up on his offer of holding the wedding at his.
"She loves his country pad and she and Sam feel it is absolutely right for them to marry there. They want to be together after what they've gone through and see becoming man and wife as the light at the end of the tunnel."
Lily is not thought to have got engaged to Sam yet, but sources close to the star believe they will soon.

Emma Watson cut her hair cut short to mark entering a "new phase" in her life.
The 'Harry Potter' star - who plays Hermione Granger in the series, which completed shooting on its final film earlier this year- has recently had a drastic new short crop and admitted it was a symbolic gesture, to mark her leaving her character behind.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "I'm 20 now, so I'm not a child any more. I've been on Harry Potter for ten years now, so I felt the need to mark the end of it in some way - I needed some way to say to myself, 'Right, you're entering a new phase of your life now'. I needed a change, and that's what the haircut is about."
Emma, who played Hermione from the age of nine, added her father was initially worried about her new look, but that her pixie-like hairdo has since grown on him.
She said: "When I first told him that I was thinking about doing it, he said, 'Don't get carried away. You're not Audrey Hepburn yet.' But he loves it now, and so he's eating his words."
Emma, who is also the face of fashion chain Burberry and attends Brown University in the US, admitted she finds it difficult to juggle her life as an A-list actress and a hardworking student, but she puts in as much effort to both as she can.
The actress added: "I'm not going to lie. I have to just work really hard when I'm at university and earn my professor's respect and trust that I'm hardworking, take it seriously and that I will come up with the goods somehow.
"You have to be really organised with your time. I tell professors in advance that I have to leave for this period of time, and I hope they'll understand."
'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part One' is in cinemas now.
