Duffy

(BANG) -

Duffy had never been on a date until she was 24.

The 'Well, Well, Well' singer - who has been in a relationship with 28-year-old rugby player Mike Phillips since September 2009 - admits she was so nervous about her first night out with the sportsman, she drank too much alcohol in a bid to ease her fears.

She said: "He asked me out on a date and we met by the river in Chiswick, South London. We didn't eat any of our food the whole time. I was so nervous.

"But we got a little bit drunk to ease the nerves. I never go on dates. I've never been on one in my life. When we were kids we used to kiss the boys from school so you didn't go on a date with someone you knew.

"Where were they gonna take me anyway, to the local chippy?"

Duffy , 26, is delighted to be in a committed relationship with Mike, as she previously romanced some "idiots", including Mark Durston, who claimed she wrote her first album 'Rockferry' about him.

She told Britain's Marie Claire magazine: "I had a few other relationships but all of them were gracious enough not to come forward. So what does that tell you about him? It's not a great character reference for someone.

"There are streams of idiots that I have loved and lost but now Mike is the guy for me."

Ronnie Wood

(BANG) -

Keith Richards only communicates by fax.

The 67-year-old Rolling Stones rocker favours sending notes through a telephone line, much to the amusement of his bandmate Ronnie Wood - who struggles to intercept the guitarist's messages.

Ronnie explained: "Keith, he still communicates through fax, no other way but a fax.

"That's why I never hear much from him because I ain't got a fax machine.

"It's fantastic, you get a message from Keith on a fax. You get 'I don't know when, I don't know where, just get ready. Love, Keith.' It means we may be touring sometime in the next decade, I don't know."

However, though Keith has struggled to get to grips with modern technology, Ronnie is impressed by his former Faces bandmate Rod Stewart's ability to embrace new ways of communicating.

Ronnie said: "I have had various emails, because Rod is getting very, very good on the emails, we've been doing to and fros lately, with sort of 'How you doing, mate?', you know, blah blah blah.

"Who'd have thought that. Rod, I mean, it's like he was never any good on the telephone - let alone the laptop. "

Ronnie, 63, is a huge fan of technology and even carries around spare mobile phones in case his main communication device fails.

He admitted to Absolute Radio DJ Christian O'Connell: "I don't have an iPod. have lots of. actually I've only got a three gigabyte phone or something, I can't get enough music on mine.

"I do have about three old Nokias that sort of operate without a sim card, you know, it's fantastic, I just swap the sim card in various areas. I've got my iPhone, which is my main thing, and lots of spares.

"You can get me on Twitter too."

Ronnie now has a daily radio show on Absolute Classic Rock at 4pm Monday - Thursday and 6pm on Fridays.

David and Victoria Beckham with their sons

(BANG) -

Victoria has previously said: "I would love to have a little girl. If I am blessed to have another baby at some point that would be great.

"I'm really girlie. I'd love to dress a little girl up."

Sir Elton John and David Furnish

(BANG) -

Sir Elton John and David Furnish have chosen godparents for their son.

The couple have reportedly shunned their showbiz pals and asked close friend Ingrid Sischy and her lesbian partner Sandy Brant to assist with the spiritual welfare of their son Zachary, who was born to a surrogate mother on Christmas Day (25.12.10).

A source told the Mail on Sunday newspaper: "Elton could have picked anyone from the world of showbusiness to be godparents but he chose a couple of dear friends who will take their role seriously.

"Ingrid has been best friends with both Elton and David for years. They holiday in Africa together every year and they all spent Christmas in Los Angeles together.

"Ingrid and Sandy are two of the most genuine people they know. They were among a handful of people Elton entrusted with the details of the surrogate pregnancy.

"Zachary means everything to Elton and David and they have chosen Ingrid and Sandy as godmothers for the traditional reason: to take care of the child's welfare in case something happens to them."

However, Elton - who is godfather to a host of celebrity children, including Elizabeth Hurley's son Damian, eight, Sean Lennon, and all three of David and Victoria Beckham's kids - and David have not yet decided how many godparents they want their son to have and are still considering asking other friends and relatives to play an important part in Zachary's upbringing.

The source added: "Elton and David still haven't decided exactly how many godparents to have. They want to have a member of David's family and they may still choose someone else who is high profile."

Magazine editor Ingrid, 58, refused to confirm whether 63-year-old Elton and David, 48, has asked her and Sandy, 55, to be Zachary's godmothers.

She said only: "That is a private matter."

Coldplay

(BANG) -

Coldplay wouldn't allow one their songs to be used in 'Glee' - but changed their minds once the show took off.

Matthew Morrison - who plays teacher Will Schuester on the hit US musical drama series - revealed that producer Ryan Murphy was refused rights to the group's song 'Viva La Vida' for the pilot episode - but once the show took off, frontman Chris Martin called to offer the use of any of their material.

Matthew said: "In the pilot I was meant to sing 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay but they wouldn't give us the rights.

"Then, once the show got started, Chris Martin called Ryan to apologise and say we could use whichever song we wanted. So I hope we'll tackle that one."

Matthew, 32, also told of another celebrity fan who would like to appear on the show - singer-and-actress Jennifer Lopez.

He said: "J.Lo definitely wants to. She runs over to me at parties asking whether I've spoken to Ryan yet because she'll 'do anything' to be on the show. She and her husband Marc Antony are obsessed with 'Glee'."

Other celebrities who have made guest appearances so far include Britney Spears, Neil Patrick Harris, and Chris' wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
