P. Diddy

(BANG) -

P. Diddy wants to meet Queen Elizabeth.

The music mogul thinks if he had lunch with the British monarch he would provide her with the "most exciting" conversation she has ever had, particularly as he wants to play her 'Last Train to Paris', the new album from his group Diddy Dirty Money.

He told BBC station Radio 1: "I'll be sending a couple of memos out to the Queen to see if she wants to have some tea with me and catch the vibe for the Last Train to Paris. She's met so many interesting people, so why stop now? I think it would be one of the most exciting lunches of her life."

The 41-year-old rapper - whose real name is Sean Combs - is also keen to be involved in entertaining Prince William and his fiancee Kate Middleton when they get married at the end of April.

Asked if he would be interested in performing at the ceremony, he said: "I'm cool with that, to enter the festivities. It's going to be a beautiful historical time, so whatever I can do to be part of the festivities, I'm just a phone call away."

Rod Stewart

(BANG) -

Rod Stewart builds model trains backstage when he's on tour.

While some rock stars indulge in hedonistic pursuits such as drinking, drug-taking and casual sex when they come offstage, the Scottish singer requests a large table in his dressing room so he can indulge his hobby of building scale models of railways.

He also makes sure he always has a fan on hand so the fumes from the glue don't affect his voice and he never drinks before he begins a building session.

Rod, 66, told Model Railroader magazine: "I can't build after a couple of glasses of wine - the results are never good.

He added that a good model builder has "an eye for proportion, a sense of what fits naturally, right down to the placement of the advertising signs."

The 'Maggie May' singer also stressed the importance of taking regular breaks, saying: "When I find myself focusing so intently on a model that it ceases to be fun, it's time to walk away, have a cup of tea and come back to it later."

Rod - whose wife Penny Lancaster is pregnant with the couple's second child - has a 139 square metre model train layout on the third floor of his home in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, and says he spends up to four hours a day in there building trains and stations.

The scaled down creation is based on the New York Central and Pennsylvania railroads of the 1940s.

Elizabeth Hurley

(BANG) -

Elizabeth Hurley is a huge fan of Oasis.

The model-and-actress is currently in Los Angeles and decided to go for a drive in her car while listening to the iconic British band - who split in August 2009 after brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher had a huge fight before a concert in Paris.

She wrote on her twitter page: "Rediscovered Oasis today and played them at full blast while zooming around LA. Forgotten how great they were.... (sic)"

After enjoying Oasis' songs - which include hits such as 'Wonderwall', 'Don't Look Back In Anger' and 'Live Forever' - Hurley then unexpectedly ran into supermodel Cindy Crawford while out and about in the city.

She added in another tweet: "Bumped into @CindyCrawford today. She looked amazing; beautiful, vibrant and healthy. Wow.... (sic)"

Liam and Noel were fans of Los Angeles when they were still in Oasis together and they recorded their sixth studio album 'Don't Believe The Truth' in the famous city.

Singer Liam has since formed a new band, Beady Eye, who are to release their first album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' in February.

Adele

(BANG) -

Adele feels "lucky" to have split from her boyfriend - because it inspired her songwriting.

The 22-year-old musician - whose debut LP '19' was about the demise of her first serious relationship - admits she managed to find some positives from seeing another romance end while she was working on her follow-up record '21'.

She said: "I'm lucky. Before I met my ex, I was panicking, thinking what was I going to write my second album about; hotels and air miles? No one can relate to that.

"So I'm very lucky that I met him and I'm lucky we broke up as well."

Despite her positive tone, the 'Chasing Pavements' hitmaker admits she was "devastated" by the separation.

She added to the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I was devastated. I was so upset. I thought my world had ended. But life goes on. You think you're gonna die but you don't."

Though she likes to channel her emotions into her songwriting, Adele admits the creative process can be a difficult experience.

She said: "The experience of writing this record was quite exhausting. I was trying to explain to myself why the relationship broke down, to the point I actually forgot about people hearing it.

"When I did, 'Someone Like You' live on TV, I got so upset, wondering and hoping and wishing my ex would be watching it, I went back to my dressing room and sobbed."

Simon Cowell

(BANG) -

Simon Cowell "didn't learn anything" at school.

The 51-year-old music mogul - who has an estimated personal fortune of over £165 million - admits he was never academically successful but believes he has done well out of life because he has such good instincts.

He said: "All my life I had to teach myself. I never really had a proper education. I wasn't born with any skill. I didn't learn anything from school.

"Mainly, I trust my instincts because I have very broad tastes. I genuinely believe that if I like something, other people are going to like it as well."

Simon quit 'American Idol' last year in order to focus on bringing his UK show, 'The X Factor', to the US and admits it took a discussion with an unnamed "successful" friends to make him realise it was time to go.

He explained on a forthcoming episode of 'Oprah Presents Master Class': "I asked a very successful guy, 'What's the best advice you can give me?' and he said, 'Simon, always know when to leave the fair.' And I think that's good advice. Something inside you just says, 'You know what, it's time to go.' Without any regrets whatsoever."

Despite departing 'American Idol', Simon - who got engaged to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy last year - insists he has enjoyed being a TV talent show judge because it isn't very difficult.

He added: "I can look back on the past ten years and say, 'It's been a blast.' I've enjoyed myself, I mean it's not the most difficult job in the world is it?"
