Katherine Jenkins is engaged to partner Gethin Jones.
The opera singer - who met the Welsh TV presenter on BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing' three years ago - accepted his proposal last month when he got down on one knee, and the pair are now planning a wedding in Wales at some point in 2012.
A source close to the pair told the Mail on Sunday: "Gethin proposed last month, it was a wonderful start to the year for both of them. Katherine is so happy and can't wait to start planning her wedding which will be next year. "They both have busy schedules and Katherine is touring a lot this year, but they will start planning soon."
"Wales is an obvious choice for their wedding. It's where they both come from and Katherine has always said that she would go home to be married. They are both very happy and in love and their family and friends are equally delighted for them. They are such a well-suited couple - a perfect match."
Despite the pair having close ties to Wales, they purchased a £4.7 million home - complete with eight bedrooms and four reception rooms - in Richmond, west London last year, which Katherine was said to be "over the moon" about.

Kelly Brook got perfume advice from Madonna.
The 31-year-old model-and-actress - whose former boyfriend Jason Statham is close pals with the singer's ex-husband Guy Ritchie - loves the scent Fracas by Robert Piguet after first smelling it on the 'Hung Up' hitmaker.
She said: "I first smelt this perfume on Madonna and asked her what it was. I decided there and then that I always wanted to smell like her. Who wouldn't want to smell like Madonna?
"It's a lovely jasmine-based scent which you can get from Harrods. Once somebody came up to me and said, 'Madonna wears that fragrance too.' And I replied, 'Yeah I know.' "
The 'Piranha 3-D' star has previously revealed she takes inspiration from Brigitte Bardot and loves to work the "sex kitten" look reminiscent of the French actress.
She said: "I do love that 60s sex kitten vibe. One of my favourite films is 'Manina', which was one of Bridget Bardot's first movies and she looks so beautiful and young and pretty. She spends the whole film in a bikini. I don't know why I'm drawn to that."

Victoria Beckham's pregnancy has helped cure her acne.
The former Spice Girls singer-turned-fashion designer - who has experienced skin problems since being a teenager - is delighted by the change in her appearance since falling pregnant with her fourth child.
A source close to the 36-year-old star - who is due to give birth in the summer - said: "Victoria has tried everything under the sun for her skin, yet nothing has worked as well as getting pregnant with her fourth baby. The hormones really suit her and she's said this pregnancy has cleared up her spots!
"She has a pretty flush to her cheeks that wasn't there before. It's like a natural blusher. The texture of her skin is much smoother and any open pores seem to have closed up. She's been drinking lots of water and eating fruit like kiwis and strawberries."
As well as Victoria - who already has three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and five-year-old Cruz - being pleased with her skin, soccer star husband David Beckham, 35, thinks she is looking better than ever.
The source added: "David loves this healthy new glow. He thinks she's sexier than ever."

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly expecting a baby girl.
The couple - who have three sons, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and five-year-old Cruz - are believed to have found out after a 16-week scan the private Rivers Hospital in Hertfordshire, southern England, that they will be adding a healthy baby girl to their brood this summer.
A friend of the pair told The Sun newspaper: "David and Victoria are over the moon. This will be their last child and to be told they are having a girl is the icing on the cake for the Beckham clan.
"Victoria is 36 and David is thinking about life after retirement. For them, with a sister for their boys - who are growing up fast - this is the perfect family. All their dreams have come true. They couldn't have wished for more."
Victoria has made no secret of her desire to have a little girl in the past, saying she would love someone to do girly activities with.
She explained: "I can imagine painting her nails, putting on make-up and choosing clothes with her.
"Everyone keeps asking if I'd like a little girl and I think, if I'm lucky enough to have another baby, that would be great."

Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum love having "geeky" conversations.
The couple - who married in January 2010 and are expecting their first child together - have a shared passion for books, with the model-turned-TV chef admitting she loves have the same hobbies as her musician spouse.
Sophie said: "I only discovered the author Margaret Atwood in the past five years. Jamie is a big fan of hers as well. It's nice being married to someone who likes to read because you can indulge in geeky conversations about books."
Sophie, 33, also revealed she has started to read more non-fiction books to make up for the fact she didn't have a university education and says she has developed a fascination with feminism.
She told Britain's Elle magazine: "I've started to read more factual books, partly because I didn't go to university.
"Feminism is so pertinent - it affects all of us. As a woman you have an instinct to question sexual politics, we have a responsibility to care."
