Pierce Brosnan loves his wife as much he did when he first met her.
The 'Mamma Mia!' actor started dating American journalist Keely Smith in 1994 and says the pair - who have two sons together, 13-year-old Dylan, and Paris, eight, and married in 2001 - are still smitten with each other and are determined to spend the rest of their lives together.
He said: "I'm in love like it was the first day. We complement one another. Keely is very good at what she does - as a mother, friend and partner. I know exactly when I have to say, 'Yes, darling!' We go together through thick and thin and - God willing - we will do that until the end of our lives."
The couple are currently building their "dream house" in Malibu, California, and while they can't wait to move in, Pierce admits it's causing a lot of stress in their lives.
The 56-year-old star told Frau im Spiegel magazine: "We are building our dream house on the beach in Malibu. You can compare that with the chaos caused by a tsunami. But it's the largest and most beautiful challenge of my life.
"I also think my age has physically and emotionally seen a real challenge. As I have become an old man I don't have enough stamina sometimes."

Mel B wants children with husband Stephen Belafonte.
The former Spice Girls singer - who already has two daughters, 11-year-old Phoenix and two-year-old Angel, from previous relationships - is planning on expanding her family further in the near future and says she loves being pregnant.
She said: "If I don't have another baby this year, I'd definitely like one the next. I'd like two more. I've never suffered from morning sickness, so I've really enjoyed my pregnancies."
However, a baby could get in the way of Mel taking part in UK TV talent show 'The X Factor'.
The 35-year-old star was rumoured to be taking over from mother-to-be Dannii Minogue on the judging panel while the Australian star has her first child.
Despite the potential problems, Mel still wants to be a judge on the show.
She told Closer magazine: "I'd love to be a judge on 'The X Factor'. I think it's a great show. I was speaking to Dannii recently and she told me everyone gets on really well. I've also met Cheryl Cole - she's lovely."
Discussing plans for a Spice Girls musical, she admitted she and fellow
band members Mel C, Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell will be making arrangements for the show over the internet because it is so hard for them to get together.
She said: "All of the Spice Girls want to get involved so we're all going to make a video call on Skype for a big chat as we're never in the same place."

Madonna's manager is being lined up to replace Simon Cowell on the 'American Idol' judging panel.
Guy Oseary - who is also Chairman of the 'Celebration' singer's label Maverick Records, which has also released LPs by The Prodigy, Alanis Morissette and Deftones in the US - is said to be the favourite to succeed Simon when he leaves the show after the current series.
Although Guy is the frontrunner he still faces competition from singer-and-actor Jamie Foxx and former Sony music boss Tommy Mottola - the ex-husband of Mariah Carey - for the judging job.
A source said: "Guy has been in the music business since Madonna discovered him when he was 17, and he has a lot of the same experience as Simon.
"His competition just can't live up to his level of experience and the people behind the show are slowly starting to realise it."
Jamie admitted it is unlikely he would be able to find the time in his schedule to appear on 'American Idol' and he may not be able to "fill Simon's shoes", while show bosses are worried Tommy could be an even fiercer critic of the pop wannabes than Simon.
The source added to the New York Daily News newspaper: "People really only know him as Mariah Carey's big bad ex. And producers are worried he'll even be harsher on contestants than Simon was."
Guy - who has made cameos in several films, including 'Charlie's Angels' and 'You Don't Mess With the Zohan', and authored four books including 'Jews Who Rock'- is keen on the job because he wants to raise his public profile.
The source said: "He was thrilled to hear Fox is considering him. He thinks it would be great for his image. And it's great exposure to boot."

Rolling Stones bandmates Ronnie Wood and Keith Richards are helping each other quit drinking.
The two guitarists - whose relationship became strained after Ronnie left his wife of 23 years Jo for his now ex-lover Katia Ivanova because Keith disapproved of his actions - are reportedly giving each other moral support as they cope with life without booze.
Notorious hellraiser Keith, 66, reportedly stopped drinking after receiving advice from his doctor, while Ronnie is staying alcohol-free for new girlfriend Ana Araujo, 30.
A source told the Daily Express newspaper: "Keith and Ronnie haven't had much to do with one another but now they're back in touch. They've both given up alcohol recently so they can obviously relate to each other's situation. They've been giving one another plenty of mortal support."
Ronnie, 62, enjoyed a sober meal at top London restaurant Cipriani on Sunday (07.02.10), and is allegedly taking anti-craving tablets to help him stop drinking.
He apparently agreed to take the medication in a last-ditch effort to avoid being admitted to rehab.
A source said: "Rehab is a last resort - he wants to do cold turkey himself."
