Hugh Jackman is "heartbroken" by 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' leaking online.

The actor - who plays the title character in the forthcoming comic book movie - admits he was distraught when a low-quality version of the blockbuster appeared on the internet and was instantly attacked by fans and critics.

Hugh said: "It's a serious crime and there's no doubt it's very disappointing. I was heartbroken by it. Obviously people are seeing an unfinished film. It's like a Ferrari without a paint job."

Around 100,000 people were thought to have downloaded the unfinished film before it was removed from the internet.

Filmmakers 20th Century Fox has vowed that those responsible for the leak would be "prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law" and said the FBI are investigating the incident.

'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' is due for release worldwide from April 29.
